Physicians are able to consult directly with ClearPoint’s scientific and medical leadership. Our comprehensive approach, rapid turnaround time and highly accurate detailed reports offer a complete solution in helping physicians to provide superior patient care. ClearPoint’s patient–centric support model for medicine integrates advanced laboratory services and reporting, greater access to actionable information across the continuum of care and facilitates more effective and efficient patient care to support healthcare providers.
The Biochemistry laboratory offers a full suite of testing options, in accordance with recommendations by the College of American Pathologists, to support physicians in the practice of medicine.
Real world clinical issues seldom come neatly packaged, that is why our comprehensive testing menu includes stand alone tests as well as complete panels to aid clinicians in diagnosing complex cases. Our panels include:
- Serology screening of organ donors
- Tumor markets
- Western Blot confirmation for HIV
- Drug testing
Toxicology testing employs liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS–MS) for the majority of assays. The technique is notable for the specificity of the results and it is the gold standard for the field.
The Cytogenetics laboratory offers a comprehensive cancer–testing menu developed to meet your diagnostic needs. All testing goes through stringent validation and quality control as recommended by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). The CAP– accredited laboratory currently processes a broad range of samples for cancer testing, including hematologic malignancies and solid tumors such as Her2/neu gene amplification testing in breast cancer.
The Cytogenetics lab performs cancer and constitutional studies, which include fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and chromosome analysis of:
- Bone marrow
- Lymph nodes
- Peripheral blood
- Other tissue specimens
Crucial to the diagnosis and confirmation of cellular pathobiological investigations, the Electron Microscopy laboratory specializes in ultra–structural studies of renal and neuromuscular specimens for clients nationwide.
Utilizing state–of–the–art digital imaging instruments, both still and live streaming images are provided to clients via a secure web portal. Clients are able to log on and view the images from their own office and have access to an image repository dedicated to each client’s images.
Additionally, our facility offers high resolution fluorescent, polarized, and brightfield imaging up to 12MP, and the use of ultra thin resin sections for brightfield microscopy.
The targeted panel of Flow Cytometry tests focuses on detection and characterization of leukemia and lymphomas from analysis of various specimen types such as bone marrow, peripheral blood, lymph nodes, and other tissues and body fluids.
All testing goes through stringent validation and quality control as recommended by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). The expert team of hematopathologists utilizes advanced instrumentation and reagents, with superior sensitivity, to detect and achieve better quantitation of small cell subpopulations, which provides more information from smaller patient sample volumes.
The unique factor of our laboratory is its ability to conduct Cytogenetics, Molecular Diagnostics and Flow Cytometry testing without the need to split the patient sample. This allows for preserved specimen integrity, reduced transport time and faster turnaround of results. All three test results can be integrated in one physician report.
The Immunology laboratory offers a range of tests tailored to meet the needs of our clients. It is dedicated to the clinical diagnosis of a variety of autoimmune, connective tissue and neurological diseases.
Our comprehensive test menu incorporates a wide array of techniques, including Laser–activated flow cytometry coupled with fluorescent tagged monoclonal antibodies, genetic mapping of disease, antibody screening and compatibility testing for donor–recipient matching prior to transplantation; and post–surgical monitoring of the immune system.
The Infectious Disease laboratory offers a broad selection of tests designed for rapid identification of the causative agents of infectious diseases. We provide full–service analytical capabilities in all microbiology areas of antimicrobial susceptibility testing:
Our laboratory has the unique capability and expertise to perform testing from the most routine bacterial cultures and serologic antibody assays to the latest in molecular–based techniques. Serologic testing is also available for confirmation of infections by demonstrating the presence of specific antibody responses.
The Mass Spectrometry laboratory provides both scientific and technical expertise coupled with state–of–the art high performance tandem mass spectrometry (LC– MS/MS) and liquid chromatography instrumentation.
Where traditional immunoassays fall short, the LC–MS/MS can provide increased sensitivity, lower detection limits, and low–level accuracy enhancing patient care in specialties such as endocrinology and testing for Vitamin D.
The Molecular Genetics laboratory provides a comprehensive menu of diagnostic tests designed to aid clinicians in the diagnosis and management for each episode of care for their patients. The laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and provides rapid turnaround time and accurate diagnostic and prognostic analysis of:
Infectious Disease Hematologic Solid Organ Solid Tumors Bone Marrow Transplant Inherited Diseases
We provide analysis and classifications of solid tumors, monitoring the success of bone marrow engraftments and therapeutic response and prognosis of malignancies such as:
Breast cancer Colorectal cancer Lung cancer
The Special Coagulation laboratory performs clinical evaluation of hemostasis and thrombosis and provides testing for the diagnosis and therapeutic management of bleeding and thromboembolic diseases, including:
Obstetrics and Gynecology Oncology Cardiology Rheumatology Vascular surgery Internal medicine Orthopedic surgery Organ transplantation Neurology
The Special Coagulation laboratory partners with in–house disciplines, including hematopathology, anatomic pathology, molecular diagnostics, cytogenetics and flow cytometry to offer a comprehensive patient profile. Each report is reviewed by our medical team and includes pertinent result interpretations, and data summaries to assist in the diagnosis of even the most complex cases.
